Woven bronze beads accent this necklace made of trade beads from around the early 1900's. Mauritanian shells were used as hair ornaments. The phenolic resin beads are often called African Amber. These resin beads were created because amber was hard to come by. Sand cast trade beads are used as accent beads. A unique piece and one of a kind.

Phenolic resin copper wire woven earrings
$52.00
Phenolic resin barrels are accented with copper wire woven caps on each end. Clay discs and red white beads are used as accent beads. I used a basket weave technique to weave the caps and finished each with a hand created post. They are lighter than they look as resin is light and the caps are hollow.
The phenolic resin beads - also know as African amber- were created in the early 1900's because amber was hard to come by. They are easier to carve and more durable. The white hearts are from the late 1800's.
length - 1 1/2" from bottom of post
